40 gallon sump on a 240 gallon tank?
Will this be ok? I know bigger sumps are prefereable but I don't have the space. A 40 breeder is the bigggest (without spening a small fortune).

The only issue would be is it large enough to handle all the drain down water. You drain 10 gallons for every inch your water level falls when your pump is off in a standard 240. You may not have enough room to handle that flow.

I would go with a 70-80 gallon sump. You can make your own quite easily for under $200 bucks.

I don't have room for that large of sump. I only have 48" length so have to stay below that.
