Aquaclear 70 or 110 worth as a refugium

Looking to do a hob fuge on my 55 to help, sustain a mandarin. Would a AC 70 or 110 be enough with chaeto?

It will help. The most important thing is the age of your tank. It is recommended that the tank be at least 1 year old. You might also seed the tank with one of the "pod" cultures after setting up the refugium. Lots of aged/cured LR is very advantageous.

I ran an AC 110 fuge on my old 58 gal. Never could get the chaeto to tumble. It was more trouble than it's worth.

Not worth the money, a refugium that small will not help with the pod population to the extant that you could keep a mandarin, also would not help with nutrients.
I would plum a sump and stick a refugium in the middle, I would aim for a 10 to 20 gallon refuge, although the bigger the better.

Try looking for a mandarin that eats prepared food, they are not that hard to find.

Thanks everyone. I should have added the tank is 1 and a half years old with about 60 lbs of good live rock with live sand. My LFS sells mandarins that eat frozen I just dont want to rely on frozen so just thinking of extra ways to supplement pods without a sump. I appreciate the advice so far!
