T5 spalsh gaurd or no splash gaurd

Just got my tek fixture and wonder if its best to use or not use the splash gaurd, the light will most likely be hung 4-8 inches above the tank

For this low hanging fixture I would use splash guard. You don't want saltwater get on your reflectors, it is very hard to get them clean. Also splashing water might cause hot bulb to crack.

Yeah, you should use splash guard!!

I got mine off the bst here on reefcentral. They pop up here and there, mines from march 2012 too
