I just called them about a dual 250 and a select a watt that failed after a month and a half of use. Since I had just run wire for my dual through the attic, I opted to grab a pair of select a watts when they discontinued the line. Sure enough my 250 started failing one channel at a time just after my new ballasts arrived. The select a watt only ran for a month and a half! SS gave me a similar runaround and the company that I bought from said it didn't look like there would be a favorable outcome. My ballasts had a 5 year printed warranty with 3 years full replacement and 2 years pro rated. They told me that they had altered their warranty and now it was just 3 years pro rated, despite what their printed warranty stated. Isn't a printed warranty a contract? Of course after sitting in the distributer's warehouse then on my shelf for another 6 months, the ballast is nearing the end of 3 years that they claim is pro rated. Basically they wouldn't give me beans. After reading this, I"m saving my sanity and just letting it go.
My take on the company - they sell to a lot illicit end users via hydroponics stores who are very unlikely to follow up on a warranty claim so they think they can just act however they please.

After the closing I went to the garage sale at the old building, and I thought I had a billing problem ended up being more of a hangover, I was in contact with another guy who worked there. |
