There's a lot of debating regarding what's safe to store RO/DI and what's not?
I've had trash cans (bins as they're known over here in the UK) that I believe have slowly been leaching phosphates into my RO/DI water (but eventually any phosphate that's been bound into the container during manufacturing eventually gets exhausted?)! Allegedly, platicisers can also leach out over time too if the container has been manufactured from recycled plastic but I have no personal experience of this? Because RO/DI is so pure it's in a very reactive state and that's why we can have problems during storage because the water's always trying to get back to its original state. I think one of the safest bets for you, is to buy a storage container that has the 'food grade' seal of approval as it shouldn't leach anything then! I've read online elsewhere that you can purchase containers that are absoloutly inert and will never leach anything into RO/DI water but I have no idea where these are available, but seeing as you're in the united states they should be easily available for you (unlike for the rest of us lol). |

+1. The brute cans are food safe. I store all my ro/di water in them.

I too have limited space and the Rubbermade 20 gallon Brute works great!! Match it up with the wheel coaster and its simple to roll from closet to fish tank for water changes etc.

How much are you willing to spend? You can buy narrow rectangular containers that are beverage grade from online sources but they are pricey.
For example http://www.tank-depot.com/productdet...rt=A-SP0020-OM
