Newly Joined & working on my rebuild.
I'm in the military and have a Jewel Rio 400ltr I bought while in Germany to get back in the hobby. This was due to my girlfriend at the time, who is now my wife. I started out with 30g long fresh and got bored and moved up to a 55g and then a 90g which a made saltwater real quickly. It was a FOWLR tank with a Lionfish, Panther Grouper, Damsels, Yellow Tang, Clown fish and anemone. Got out the hobby due to a move overseas until now. Started out fresh again with the 400ltr (Cichlids) due to saltwater fish is expensive in Germany, but now I'm in Okinawa where it's a dime a dozen. Got the tank up, running nice but duty called and had to tear it down, now I'm back and working on a rebuild. Had someone make a stand and canopy but was highly disappoint with the end result. Like they say if you want something done right then DIY. I did and I'm supper happy, my wife too. Getting eager to see what and how it'll run. It's a real stress reliever for me. Positive inputs/suggestion are welcome.
400ltr/106g, 2 Radion Pros, 2 MP40, SWDC 2640, JBJ 1/10 Chiller, 15W Aqua UV, BM-T01 or GEO 618 Reactor (Undecided), BRS Dual GFO/Carbon Reactor, BRS 150 GPD RO/DI, NSW optional, Skimmer(Researching), Sump(Researching) |

You can start out without the reactors and such until you decide the direction you want to go. Live rock and some fish are a good start, then move in to the easier, but nice corals before you go full on money hog SPS. That's how i would do it anyway. This hobby can get super expensive, and as long as you plan for your future growth, you can do it in steps to ease the pain. Plus, as long as it is progressing, you'll never get bored with it and it will be constantly growing. Take pics of everything, you'll get a lot more comments and followers if pics are involved
