Mounting Radions W/ Minimal Clearance

It has been a while since I've been on the site but really need some help with my mothers tank. A while ago she had purchased three radions and I hung them over the tank with the ecotech hanging kit. They simply put off too much light in the room and she wasn't happy with them. She wanted them mounted into the hood. Ok. So. I mounted them into the hood, clearing the water by 5.5in. I. Realize this. Is below the 6in mark, but this is what we have to work with. I kept a close eye on them and sure enough after about an hour there was significant condensation all over them. Great... Now what do I do? I was thinking that if I could get some serious ventilation going with a couple of fans I would be able to eliminate this problem. I also moved the vortecs lower and returns down to keep. The surface of the water as calm as possible. Do you think a ventilation system will be enough to keep the radions safe? Suggestions on how to build this ventilate system?

The Set Up:

~5"

Well wish I had a little more feed back but said screw it and built a new hood. Same as the last but added almost 6in in height to the hood, rebuilding the entire unit. Also installed two additional circulation fans to minimize moisture build up. Posting pictures soon.

Nice work on the hood. If you decide to go back to an open top, ReefKoi makes some nice mounts for the Radions. I have the 48" and it looks very nice.
