Its great to watch a fish grow up and change
I have always preferred the juvi colours and pattern of a queen, but they are still very beautiful fish when they are adults |

This wild caught fish looked like a Blue at first, but now looks most like a Queen except for the atypical crown on the forehead. Here is a link to a video made a couple of days ago posted on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...type=2&theater

I had a townsend angel (blue and queen hybrid) looked exactly like that.
Wish I still had him. Awesome great to see the progression, thanks for sharing.

Awesome fish. 7-8 years ago Saltwaterfish.com sold me a 4-5 inch "Show Queen".
Didn't know all that much about Angels back then but one day I realized it was a hybrid(because of the markings)="Show Queen" = Towsend It Did very well but grew slow, mine ate a lot, and was a great fish. I'd say she made it about 5 yrs in my tanks. Sadly, just, well... uhhh. After watching them on reefs, I realized they need to nibble on algae and whatever they can forage upon. Good luck- That's a cool fish!! |

I have a townsend exactly like the one described, except my townsend's crown is not as pronounced. I got it when it was only 4 inches two years ago. Now it's overtaken my 8" blueface and is just as big as my 9" emperor. Eats like a pig and super duper hardy. I would also say its more blue than queen, but still a hybrid. Thanks for sharing, still pretty cool to see the progression!
