Goniopora Question?
Upon driving down to my LFS I noticed they had this softball size Goniopora. The best part? Only $20! I've never housed one before and I've heard on various forums, they can be difficult to impossible to maintain in a home aquarium. But the fish lady said "They only live up to a certain age in captivity. That's why they don't tend to do well in home aquarium".
Can anyone speculate this? Is it true? |

I had one for years. Ended up selling it and I know it's still alive and thriving.

I think there are people who have kept these guys for a long time. You should ask in the LPS forum about their needs.

The green ones can be pretty hard to keep, but the red or pink ones tend to do pretty well. There's a few good threads in the LPS section on keeping them healthy.
