mystery of hermit crab and disaappearing zoo's

I have a 55g mixed reef with only a clown and a sixline in it. water params in check all other corals doing great, but everytime i put zoanthid frags in they are there and happy for about two weeks then almost disappear overnight, they dont close up but just totally disappear. I have only one colony that seems to grow and multiply out of 8 that i put in over the previous months.
Looking at the tank during lights out I noticed a hermit on what was left of a frag, the next morninig frag was wiped clean. this one crab always seems to be near the scene of the crime. I have 5 other hermits and snails in there and all seem to be reef friendly. Do blue tip hermits eat zoo's? And if so get rid or put it in the fuge?

I've heard of electric blue hermits eating zoas. I had one for a while never touched them but it's possible. Thow him in the fuge and see if your missing Zoa problem goes away

i had electric blue knuckle hermits and orange knuckle. they loved to demolish zoos
