LED lighting for my 45g Cube - Kessil or Maxspect?

I've finally purchased my 45g cube and now looking for all the toys to add to it.

I had my mind set on the Kessil A360W for its simplistic packaging as well as the amount of light it can produce. Ability to connect to an external controller.

However, I've also been looking at the Maxspect Razor.

Each light is has its own unique features at the same price point.

For the the Kessil or Maxspect owners, what are your opinions?

Thanks!

I've owned both. Currently running the razor on my newly setup 45G Cube. Though due to it being a lagoon, planning on SPS on the bottom, I doubt this Razor Nano will cut it. So I'll be purchasing another AquaUFO Led. Also one to look into. I have it over my 40breeder now. Amazing light all the way down. Ran a Kessil 150 over my 38 Nuvo. While I got good growth and lighting, it created a lot of shadows which I didn't like. So your best bet is doing the Razor. Or unless, you'd like to try the AquaUFO at only $200, compared to a 400W Metal Halide.

Hentz,

Do you think the Kessil A360W will cause shadowing?

From my understanding, the A150 is a narrow pattern while the A360W is wider with the ability to go 36" deep.

Thoughts?

I don't think it would. And also considering aside from it's depth, it spreads a lot nicer than the 150. Though keep in mind this is a little bigger than a soda can.... Where as my AquaUFO or even radions and AI's are larger giving more light in a larger area. So I think there will definitely still being some shadowing, though it also depends on your rock scape as well

I would NOT get either of them

Don't get the Razor

Yes it looks very very cool and is very powerful.

I too wanted one untill I read what other posters said about the Purple Color.

I went to the Maxspect Facebook Page and OMG were they Right.

Here is the Link (Not the Purple Hue).

https://www.facebook.com/Maxspect

They seriously need to Change this light.

Make it look Blue NOT Purple.

Don't get the Kessil either

The Kessil does have bad Shadowing and so much Shimmer that it wil give you an Aneurism or Seizure.

Other that the Shadowing and Shimmer they make great Lights though.

Also, they are coming out with a Fixture soon too so I would not buy anything Kessil until that Fixture comes out.
