Nano sump pump ?

So i have a 29 gallon tank and I want to make a 10 gallon sump tank. I'm going to be using .5 inch PVC for a DIY hangon overflow...I read tho with a sump tank that small that you should choose either a skimmer or refugium. Is it true or can u have both and if you did have to choose which would be better? And I have seen 3 section ones with bio balls a refugium and a return pump section. And with .5 inch PVC I read it does about 90 gph what kind of return pump would I use?

I don't see why you couldn't have a 3 stage sump. Skimmer/fuge/return. Just Google "10 gallon sump" and you'll find a lot of images to help you get thinking about what design will work best for you.

Would it be better to use acrylic or regular glass? Or does it matter?

Either glass or acrylic, it's just your preference or what you can easily come by.
