Have RO water, do i need to add Deionization?
My wife did not like the water in our house so I put in a RO unit a while back.
Now, i'm soon going to be setting up a marine tank. Can I just use the RO water or do I need the Deionization? I see drsfostersmith sells them. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...m?pcatid=26095 Is it a must? |

Yes, I think just out of the RO membrane most filters put out 20-40ppm. The de-ionization catridge generally removes the rest leaving 1 or less ppm. adding a DI stage is usually quite cheap. Even a dual stage maxcap di from spectrapure is less than 100 i think.

My tds meter reads 0 after my RO. However, I still got the DI filter due to the initial high tds creep when first starting it. But I used RO only before without issues, so long as your tds is 0.
