Identification and possible answer?
i have had this hammer coral for about 2 years or so... he was doing wonderful and even growing some more branches... about 6 weeks ago he stopped fully extending ect and now i notice his heads are losing 'flesh'
i noticed these small almost worm looking things... they dont move or anything but i think it has something to do with the hammers branches.... i have added 3 pics, take a look.... should i pick the hammer up and clean him by hand??? http://postimg.org/image/fefp6630r/ http://s22.postimg.org/q1ll9mva9/worm2.jpg http://s17.postimg.org/5aqza0ma7/worm3.jpg

Those are vermetid worms, a type of sessile snail. They produce a mucous web to feed, which can irritate corals, but a hammer can generally take care of itself. I doubt they are the source of your hammer's recession.
