Who Would Be Interested In The Large Lumenmax Reflectors?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this or not. I'm a private individual who is trying to track down a few of the large Lumenmax reflectors (22.25x22.25x8.75). Unfortunatly, I've looked everywhere and since Sunlight Supply no longer make these reflectors, buying used is currently the only option.

I decided to give Sunlight Supply a call today and see if they would be interested in a limited run of these reflectors and they didn't immediately turn me down. I made it through the first supervisor who seemed open to the idea. Who would be interested in getting in on a limited production run and how many?

Ok we're up to eight.

I just received a call back and it made it past the next tier supervisor! Hopefully the minimum quantity isn't something crazy.

FYI, the last limited run they made was 100 units. They actually discontinued that reflector long before they shut down the aquatics division.

That would be an extreme bummer, I doubt we will get interesting that many.

I gave up on the LM Larges and bought Hamilton Technology Cozumel Suns, and do not regret it one bit.

Not trying to derail this thread or anything, it is just that unless a special run of LM Large reflectors can be made, it is nearly impossible to find them, as they were discontinued by Sunlight Supply months and months ago. Maybe used. Nowhere online has them, and do not order them from Affordable Aquatics. They don't have them in stock and haven't removed them from their website yet, and they are very slow to refund your money. Ask me how I know!

Here is a pic with the Cozumel Sun Reflector over the tank, which is 96" x 40" x 28". Bottom of the reflectors are about 8" above the water line. You can also buy these reflectors only for a retrofit type application, which doesn't have the outer black steel shell or the splash glass.

ReefGeek is having a 15% off sale on Hamilton stuff as well right now, I just got an email notice about.

I had eight Radion G1s on this tank prior to going back to the Radium 400 watt halides, and with the Radions on the heater was on every day. I added a fan to blow over the sump behing the tank, and the temp stays fine. The halides bring out the best colors in SPS, IMO, worth the heat/electricity usage tradeoff for me.

I also have a 100 gallon mixed reef with 2x Radion Pros over it. Radion is the best light for mixed LPS/Softy tanks, IMO. I would not use anything else over it.

I have 4 of them that I am willing to part out with. I still have to take it out of the canopy. Pm me for info . I recently purchased 11 lumenmax elites to go with LEDs. I could not fit the 22" reflectors and the led fixture without shrinking my reflectors. They are the 22.5"x22.5"x8.5" with the 15 foot cord.

I wish I had known this a few days ago, I bought a used one from Marine Solutions in St. Charles MO.

Hehehe...a couple months ago I would have bought all 4 of them!!! I am happy with my Cozumel Suns, however, since they have the splash glass and the black outer shell, as my lighting is open. I like the size of the LM large for a big tank, however, at 22" x 22". My Cozumel Sun pendants are 20" x 20".

One other note, Hamilton reflectors come with cords compatible with Hamilton, Lumatek, and Sunlight supply Ballasts. They use a funky shape 3 blade design. I think they will work with Galaxy ballasts as well.

My plan is to wait for the AI hydra 52 to become available and purchase the apex awm which will control the wireless LEDs via apex fusion. In the 96" long tank I will have 4 halides and 4 hydra52 alternating throughout the length of the tank. I still plan to use 4 x 400 watt radiums but with the lumenmax elite reflectors. I will still run the radiums at least 6 hours and have the AI hydras run another 8 hours. My sps tank actually is lit by VHOs from 7 in the morning until 3pm and 400watt radiums from 3pm until midnight. I am basically removing the vho super actinics and using LEDs to supplement AND extend the usable photoperiod. The LEDs will ramp up in the beginning and ramp down before the radiums come on. This is the only reason I am getting rid of the 22" reflector. Otherwise I would keep it. It has such an even spread on my 30" width tank. Plenty of light with the 400 watt radiums.

They are $50 each plus $20 shipping. I would have preferred being pm'ed since this is not the selling forum. I just wanted to throw out that they can still be found used.
