Berghia nudibranch eating aiptasia.
I bought three Berghia nudibranches for my 29 gallon tank to try to get control of an aiptasia problem. I have noticed a few aiptasia dis-appearing but haven't seen the nudibranches too often. Yesterday I was able to get a picture of one eating an aiptasia.
Really hoping they breed and the population goes high enough to wipe out all the aiptasia. Any stories of succeeding to have nudibranches breed in a reef tank? Any flops where they did not take care of the aipasia problem? |

They are very tiny and hide alot. You just see a decline in aiptasia and nothing more most of the time.. sneeky little buggers.
90% of them sold are indeed tank raised and bred, although it may be difficult if insufficant aiptasia if present.. they also breed like rabbits and they will catch up to any aiptasia you throw at them and eventually run out and starve. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2008/11/breeder If interested in trying, heres a breeder's article as noted there are alot of predators so that might stop breeding as their eggs are tasty
