Potrice is looking at 180 gallon reef ready tanks. They have dual overflows. Unless you also have dual full siphons for a dual Herbie, one of the overflow weirs will have stagnant water. Not a good thing to have stagnant water anywhere in the system. If you do yet have a tank but are looking to purchase one, and you want to build a Herbie/beananimal system, best to start off by purchasing an undrilled tank and drill it. IMO.

Thanks for everything guys. I will follow your advice and just buy a normal aquarium (not reef-ready) and do a Herbie overflow or a Bean animal overflow (not sure which one yet). I'll do some research on which one is superior and try to find a post/video on how to do it. Shouldn't be too complicated right?

Make sure the glass panel you plan to drill in whatever tank you purchase is not tempered. Once tempered, you cannot drill the glass. Good news is, most back panels of standard 180 gal tanks are not tempered.

Well I just received a response from Miracles...and the price is wayyyy out of my budget. Its way more expensive than I thought....so I'll have to stick with Used, Perfecto or Aqueon. Time to play the waiting game!

Keep checking your local clubs forums for people getting out. That's what I did, and scored!

Here's my 180.

I lucked out and a guy was selling this 180 Aqueon, with 2 holes drilled in a top corner, for 1.5 inch ID bulkheads. No scratches- $200!

So, I had some Glass Cut and Went coast to Coast!

Here's my Stand frame

I'll be finishing the stand next week, then making a canopy, etc.

Here's my 125g I'll be transferring to the 180, hopefully by November 15th, maybe sooner.
