Pellet Stove Near Aquarium
Does anybody know if it's ok to keep an aquarium near a pellet stove, or have any experience in doing so? I just got a 390 gallon tank that I'm about to setup and along the same wall I'm having some custom cabinets made. I also wanted to put a pellet stove in along that same wall. Is there a specific distance that it should be kept away from the tank? The ideal spot for it in terms of where it'd fit in along the wall is only about 2 feet to the left of the end of the tank.
I've heard in the past that on smaller systems, it could heat the tank up quick, but wasn't sure since it's a pretty large system. The dimensions are 96 X 30 X 30 and the glass is 3/4'' thick, in case any of that matters. The pellet stove will probably only be used 4 months out of the year. Just figured I'd check before finishing the plans for the room. Thank you! |

Depending on what other heat systems you have in/around the tank I'd guess you will probably be good to go. It takes a lot of energy to heat a gallon of water let alone 390 of them. Additionally the glass has some insulating properties. What temp will the house be when the pellet stove is burning?
