What is up with these 2 new snails??? (with pic)

Bought 2 new snails on the weekend, i think they are nerites.
They NEVER leave the top of the tank.
Are they scared of the hermits?
My other 6 snails (ceriths?) have no problem.
Every day is an adventure!
0 ammonia and nitrite, 5 nitrate

they probably do their work after lights out. i have bunches of these and they always stay huddled up in a corner at the water surface during the day. at night, they're all over the place.

Never hold your farts in. They travel up your spine into your brain, and that is where crappy ideas come from.

Current Tank Info: i gave my reef away and i feel like a bird out of a cage!!

+1. Mine do the same thing all day but if I check the tank a few hours after lights out I see them moving in the tank.

They know their role as well as your lighting schedule

When the lights are on they can only assume you're going to be there to watch the tank and not watch them so they stay away. Mine like the 2 sides of the tank and corners become snail piles. At night they cover the front glass and start mowing the lawn.

I have nerites and in my experience these guys sit at the water level in the corners of my tank all day. When the lights go out they do their job. Its common for me to find a nerite on the floor occasionally so keep an eye out.
