In an enclosed canopy, watt for watt, the heat is the same. Any light source in an enclosed canopy is a bad idea, vent the top of the canopy to help.

A watt is a watt. 150w of T5 will equal 150w of halides. I see that you have a 60g cube so I am guessing you are looking at 6-8 (24) watt T5s. You will need to make sure you have properly cooling in place to help bulb life and output as well.
An ATI Sunpower would be my choice if you want all T5s but you shouldn't put them in a hood. For a retro kit go with the LET kit from Reefgeek.
