Yep, then I use Clorox spray on the sink to clean it out.

I pour mine on my gravel driveway. I don't know if it kills the weeds, but I figure it doesn't do any harm to the environment considering all the salt used around here in the winter.

Just check out the LiterMeter III. That's what I'm hoping to get for Christmas this year and then I'll be setting up this kind of thing for myself. Many people say that this is the best money they have spent in the hobby in terms of both health for the tank as well as convenience/time savings. The only down side is the price tag at about $500.

I tried to use water on my lawn with great results for about a year and then it goes down the hill. Lawn doesn't like salt water in long run for sure...

I've always dumped it next to the hedge in the lawn. Natural fertilizer.

I used to carry it outside and dump it in the ditch. Guess what - bare spot in the ditch.
Now I siphon directly from the tank into the kitchen sink. Much easier and doesn't kill the grass. Starting to come back after about a year finally.

I have a 120 gallon reef tank with a 40 gallon refugium. I usually replace 15 gallons every 2 weeks, three 5 gallon jugs. My home is a two story with the 'master suite' on the second floor. There is also a loft between the bedroom and the staircase down. This is my 'office' and where the 120 gallon tank is situated.

I have been taking the 5 gallon jugs to our shower and pouring them down the drain. This freaks her out. She feels I am making our bedroom filthy with fish sh*t and pee. Now, I personally don't feel this water is that dirty but, it is a HUGE issue to her. I want to be respectful and sensitive to her feelings.

I have offered to take the 5 gallon jugs downstairs to the kitchen sink, the guest bedroom, use the toilet, etc. All with similar feelings from her of disgust at having fish waste in her home. She would prefer the waste water be taken outside of the home. I don't think I can dump them outside without leaving a salt residue all over the ground and making the area unfit for any plant growth so:

I ask, what do you guys do with your old aquarium water when doing water changes.
I am looking for creative ideas.
toilet.

Thanks guys.
I had my wife read this. She got quite a laugh. I now have permission to put it down the toilet.

You can see why I want to keep the wife happy!

If you guys have Caulerpa you should never put it in a drain or toilet.
Some areas are battling this stuff off the coast of Italy and Southern California due to Aquariums releasing spores. SPores can travel hundreds of miles to the ocean.

She is real and I plan to keep her.

I have been researching her diet, she is reef safe, non aggressive, and tame enough to eat out of my hand. She has never bothered any of my SPS, or LPS. But, I don't think she is safe around shrimp, scallops, or clams. She recognizes me when I come home at night and gets very excited to see me. Overall, probably the best acquisition I have ever made!

Oh, and she loves me.

Did this in the old house.
In the new house it goes down the utility sink in the garage.

I used to dump skimmate down the kitchen sink in the old house so i wouldn't have thought twice about dumping saltwater down there.
