Help ID-ing a weird coral, please?
I did try asking my local club what they thought this was, and we are sort of stumped. Anyone have any ideas?
I got this free in a frag tank breakdown. It's on a slightly curved skeletal looking piece of something, with sort of straight striations/grooves like a heatsink, and it doesn't cover that skeleton, so I am not sure if it has just attached to it or if it is part of the polyp itself. It's on a frag plug, for size, it's a boring sort of muddy orange by day, and super neon orange under my blue led. In the space of a few months, it has actually grown from one mouth to 4, I cut the rock it was on in half to get the other creature its own space. It looks soft, but it feels rough and bony. Some of it is fleshy, as when you touch it by accident, it can retract a little bit, but always maintains a sort of circular flat shape. Honestly, it kind of feels like a half-melted piece of plastic when you touch it, bendy but rough and hard - I know, weird. It has feeder tentacles that are a good size and can be out any time of day. It eats when I feed it (mysis, brine, etc). I've included pics of both frags - one has his feeder tentacles half out and the other does not. Peeps in my club threw out blasto/acan/lobo/some hybrid of these, but I have no idea, and I would like to eventually propagate it and share with the club, but don't know what to call it. Please help! And if there is another forum better for this, please move my topic or let me know. Thanks!

Not having owned a chalice before, do they ever have big rings of feeder tentacles that stick out this far? I'm going to attach a couple more from when I was feeding just now:

Yes, the mouths can be quite large with feeder tentacles.
