Happy with your Powerhead?
I have a tank with a coupla vortechs on it, but still use supplemental powerheads. I have Koralia's breaking down on me like crazy. Twice this week. Looking for something to replace them with, around 600-1200 gph. Any suggestions?
I'd like to avoid adding a third vortech mp40

I have ran tunze's for 8 years and love them, I took them out to try out the jebao's and they are also doing a great job so far for the price, if they ever do break I will put the tunze's back in though.

I have a WP40 and am very happy with it. Hooked up to a controller it gives me a lot of variation on the flow... If I was you and since you already have cables going in the water, I would sell an MP40 and get 2 WP40s plus some good belgian beer for that money.

Well I guess I shouldn't suggest hydors. I've only owned the nano 240's but never had one break in 3 years. My friends got tunzes those are pretty nice. His one is pretty noise but I chalk that up to lack of maintenance.

I have used the Hydor Koralia Evolution Pump - 1150 with the Smartwave wave maker for a while and also have several Nano's in my tanks. I have used Hydor Koralia for several years and never had a problem.
For a few months I tried the Marineland Maxi-Jet pumps and while I loved the amount of water they moved, I often found them to not be running and would have to either unplug and re-plug them in or manuall turn the impellers to keep them running. I went back to the Hydor Koralia's after that and have had no more problems. |

Koralias are all 3-5 years old. Clean em once a year, never changed a part on them. Only one goes into reverse but its over five years old.

My tunzes are running great. Very quiet and no issues whatsoever.
I had Aqueon's before, but they are terrible. I use them to mix my salt now.
