There is a lot more to live rock than Coralline Algae and bacteria.

I went 50/50 - my original 75 was 90% live rock. But when I upgraded all the added rock was dry.

I did 90% dry rock and vida rock..now its completely covered in coralline algae. .seed it and keep rock solid parameters it would grow like weeds..

I do love the look and diversity of the FL aquacultured LR but the aquascaping abilities of the BRS reef saver so guess I am going to do both.

was just curious what you all are going....
would love to see some progression shoots for these tank 50% or more dry rock!
come on you know you want to share.
It doesn't matter. Rock is rock. When you say dry all that means is it's simply dry. It's not a type of rock. You can get FL aquacultured rock as you describe it dry or get some premium Fiji from someone off craiglist or local club cheap. . When people say live rock all that means is that has the bacteria already cycled on it. Adding any rock to a tank will become live rock in a month. All the creatures people are talking about will come after you buy a couple of coral .. hitchhikers are inevitable. But buying a bunch of live rock will most certainly have more pesty creatures than good.
This is all dry rock.. Mostly Premium Fiji:

In my last tank I cycled dry and after buying some coral there was all the usual creatures living in the rock.. sponges, tunicates, pods. worms, snails , feather dusters ect.
