Flow question and pump placement

OK so I have a flow question. I have 2 mp40's and I know most all people put them on the sides of their tanks. What do you guys think about putting them on the back of the tank? What would pros and cons be?

I've seen a few people do them on the back. I guess it just depends on tank dimensions, aquascaping, and coral placement. Might end up moving sand around.

I would say it depends on the flow it produces. Rockwork might help the flow diffuse/spread but it will also block it from others.
By placing powerheads on the side of the aquarium you can hit most of the side/front and have some flow that goes around to the back. With the powerheads in the back the rock could block too much flow/ not as good coverage.

I would say experiment with placements.

That would be alot of flow from front to back with mp 40s. I would try the sides. What size tank is this

If its a cube u might be able to get away with it, but my koralia 1050 reaks havoc on the back of my 220. There is no point in wastin the potential of ur mp40s if ur gonna lower flow to accomodate imo
