Skimmer problem

Hi

I am having a problem with my skimmer and I was hoping that one of you guys can help me. I have an Aquac Remora-S that came with a MJ-1200. Today I noticed something did not sound right. The skimmer doesnt have the usual smooth running sound like always, but instead I am getting big bubbles and it is making more of a gurgling noise. Or like if you were boiling something on the stove, that sort of noise. I am getting no bubbles of any sort going up towards the collection cup. I opened the white screw and cleaned and closed it again but that did not help.

Any kind of help would be appreciated.

i don't know about your remora but i would rinse your pump real good check the venture they get clogged the slightest with any debris or even salt creep and it'll cause skimmers to act up

I tried cleaning the air intake and the pump but it still has the same problem. i think it can't take enough air

have you fully taken her apart and cleaned every possible part as a last resort

that's really all i have as options i'm not familiar with HOB skimmers but if someone doesn't reply try to google your issue i'm sure your not the first to encounter this problem with it.

I'm gonna try to clean everything again. I searched for the issue and looks like someone else in RC had the same exact issue but they abandoned the thread

just cleaned everything that was "cleanable", still with no success... I just emailed aquac support. hopefully they will get back to me by tomorrow

Did you remove the large screw where the spray injector is? That is the main item that needs to be cleaned.

yeah I removed it and cleaned the inside and put it back

This morning I woke up and everything was back to normal. I cannot see any reason how it happened in the first place and how it got fixed on its own with me taking any further actions.
