65G Lighting - AI Vega?
I'm setting up a new 65G build and was curious if anyone had an opinion on the amount of lighting needed.
The tank is a 65G 36L x 18W x 24H. It will hold a mixed reef of SPS, LPS, etc. I was looking at AI LED fixtures and having been drawn to the Vega for the customizations it offers keeping in mind future upgrades and livestock needs. I've read the spread of the Vega is 24" x 24" but I'm unsure as to if 1 Vega would be enough for my needs. I've also read that 2 would probably be overkill and not offer different lighting conditions to support the varied light needs of the mixed reef. Any insight/experience would be greatly appreciated. |

With one, you'll have to raise it up high for coverage. I would personally run two or go with two AI SOL blues. I believe the SOLs cover the same but to me they had more power to penetrate deeper. 2 Vegas is also what I would say to go with as well.

Check out the new Ai Hydra. I will be upgrading my Ai Sols as soon as the upgrade kit is available. I run 2 Ai Sols on my 105g and have plenty of light to grow anything I chose.

Definitely 2. I'll be running 3 Radions over 52", now that is overkill
