Feather Duster moved out of his tube to go behind some mushrooms?

His tube is way higher on the rock above the mushrooms, but he's left it behind and moved almost to the bottom, behind the mushrooms in this cave.
Can't see him and can't see him going back, it's kind of a long way.
Cause for concern?

It's dying and cannot be saved. Starved.

Oh well, thanks.
I did feed phytoplankton a couple time a week.
I even dusted with reef chili.
He looked good, until today.

Did an autopsy.
It was the "feather" part behind the mushrooms, worm part not found, assumed to still be in the tube.
Google says it's quite common, and may grow it's feathers back.
It was a Hawaiian.

I've read that they will abandon the tube and drop their crown if in a spot they don't like. I have two - one's been in the same place for almost a year, the other dropped crown, abandoned the tube and I haven't seen him since. Could be behind rocks, could be dead, not sure. I'd leave the tube where it and see if he comes back.

My feather duster has grown some new feathers.
He popped out slightly yesterday, in the same tube.

Yeah it's fine. they drop their feather heads from time to time and start new ones. It means yours is doing very well not starving.
