i dont see any obvious parasites. maybe in gills if it had any. can you tell me when it was purchased and where and how it was acclimated. and then what tank it was in with what tankmates? tank parameters?

Note: White patches on body usually equals to stress.

few things pop out. first 2 hrs in open top air exposed bucket is a NO NO. pH inside a sealed bag is fine but right after being exposed to air it start to dip. about 30 min is all it needs to dip into dangerous levels. That could be one thing that made the tang sick and died in few days.
Second no qt means it could have internal/external parasites or diseases which some maynot be visible with naked eye.
Thirdly a 4 ft tank with 2 existing aggressive tangs mean a death sentence for a new incoming tang. That footplan is very small of the choices of tangs.
White patches means stress on fish and aggression from other.

I am leaning towards stress due to reasons stated above.
