Thanks I wasn't sure if it was acan or blasto. Can these frags stay in this position or are they too close?

If that's a favia it can put the smackdown on the blasto in time.

Even if the current flow doesn't allow contact to blasto?

They put out stinging tentacles at night. This is where the damage happens.

Should be able to tell by checking it out at night. Candy Cane will have a ring of moderately long tentacles. My favia has a single stinger tentacle per mouth.

Favia and blasto. I think favia a side shot would confirm.

At the OP. Simple way to tell the difference. If the tissue at the polyps are connected, favia. If they are separate stalks, trumpet.

I've made small trumpet frags that connect by tissue between heads, so hard to say on a lil frag like that.

Favias encrust. There is clearly a shadow on the plug under that trumpet
