MH fixture suggestions
So right now I'm running t5s of my shallow 90 48x30x14 but recently saw a nice MH fixture that was producing some nice color at my LFS it was a hamilton Cebu sun now I'm thinking I might try MH wondering what you metal halide owners would recommend for a shallow tank 150/175/250 watt? And what fixture would give me the best spread
Thanks in advance |

If you can find them, LumenArc III Mini's, either 150's or 175's would be perfect. They will cover the 30" area adequately.

second the lumen arcs , or even the full sized ones
not sure what kinda bulb choices in the 150 watt, or 175 , but either would give enough on a 14 deep tank... lots of bulb choices in the 250 watt single ended bulbs |

The problem with fixtures is covering that 30" area, there are a few that can do it, but they come at a premium. Giesmann and Sfiligoi both have fixtures that can cover the area, they are just getting hard to find. That is the benefit of the pendant, you can get coverage easily.

What's the budget? It becomes important because it is easy to drop a few grand and more on a high end fixture.

Ok, forget Sfiligoi and most Giesemann unless you score a great deal used. The good news is with the aqua scape as it currently is you won't need complete spread, but as e corals grow and you add more you will. The Cebu will work as the tank is now but may fall short down the road. I will take a little time tomorrow and look around and see what I can find that fits the budget and will allow room to grow.

I think I saw. A giesemann infinity for sale near me for 800 might look that that one or might even consider doing a floating canopy if I don't go MH you think a ati 8x54 PM would be enough for the future

I would think yes on the ATI, obviously the 10 bulb would be better but you should have no problems with the 8. The Infinity would be a good fit with the T5's, get the specs on it, they made a few different ones. I went with a floating canopy but my tank is such an odd shape it was the only way.

Sfiligoi hands down one of the best fixture on the market. There reflector is a little larger then the Giesemann. I have 2 Sfiligoi fixture and thinking about selling one of them.
