How long GFO last?

I was just wondering since I just started usingGFO a reactor how long does GFO last before it needs to be changed?

Depends on your PO4 levels? Ive seen a few days to a few weeks.

Current Tank Info: I have a 180 gal mostly LPS corals, it contains 1 Val. Tang, 1 yellow striped clown fish, 3 percula clownfish, a blood shrimp, cleaner shrimp and a sand shifting goby, 5 pajama cardinals, 1 green chromis. Also a 75 gal. sump/fug.

If your phosphate levels are elevated you may need to change it every three days at first. Once it is under control, you should get 3-4 weeks.

what about when it gets depleted?
does it hold everything it has absorbed, and just not absorb any more?
