Applying kalk paste to brown algae - Any advice?

Hello Forum.

I'm currently battling some brown algae (lobophora) on some of my rocks and I would like to try to apply kalk paste to stop the spread of it.

Anything that I should be careful of before starting besides doing it slowly as to not raise the PH water too much?

I'm planning to treat the rocks right inside the main tank (160G).

Treat the cause of the excess growth, otherwise it will just grow back.
