Question on moving/placing my corals.

yes, I am pretty new, less than one year in this hobby. I have corals that are growing up pretty big and fast. I have read and researched where and how to place them, even as far as the neighboring chemical warfare.
Some are touching others now and I can see a war going on as some are retracting, burning off, and even refusing to open. I want to protect each in their own place as much as possible. Question is....Is this going to be an on going thing? Meaning, will I be adjusting corals for a while, or do they figure it out. I don't mind doing it, but some rock attaching corals would be hard to fix if I need to move them.
