hey all,
i am in the process of putting together a seahorse tank, and have gotten down to considering the lighting. i would like to leave my options open in the future for some photosynthetic gorgonians and similar for them to hitch to. i am trying to figure out if an AI Nano will give the tank sufficient coverage. i am looking right now at either a 37G column, 20"x18", or a 45G cube, 24"x24". for those of you nano owners, do they have sufficient spread to cover that area? i have two Vegas on my main reef and absolutely love them, so i would like to stay with AI. i've thought about just getting another Vega for the SH tank, as i know for sure that would cover the area no problem, but wouldn't mind saving myself a few bucks for other equipment, if it makes sense to. thanks! ![]()

I am runing the ai nano over a 20g cube thats 18x18. I believe its spread is capable up to 24 inches if im not mistaken, i could be wrong though. I would probably go for a larger unit for either one of your new tanks. You may be able to get by on the 37g but might be pushing it on the 45g. Hopefully somebody else will know more.
