Remora AquaC Performance

Running Remora AquaC with Rio 1100. (380 gph) . It doesn't skim very well. Doesn't seem to keep up with my 50 gal sumpless. Should I be using a way stronger pump? How many gph for this hang-on skimmer? However, when I turn the air on on the adjacent power head, it improves, but I'd rather not have my tank constantly filled with tiny bubbles. (I only allow a little air).

So the air bubbles are coming out of the spout of the skimmer? If so what I did with that skimmer was rubber band a sponge to the spout and it helped a ton with the bubbles. You just gotta remember to keep the sponge clean.

No, bubbles not exiting the skimmer. Exit water coming out like glass. There is a powerhead near the skimmer intake (just for current); when I allow more air into the powerhead, the skimmers' intake water pump sucks some of the bubbly water and improves the performance. But the sponge idea is awesome! thanks. probably holds some nitrate in there though. But if it helps me skim it'll do more good than harm. Thanks again!
