Newly found corals in Palau living in acidic waters
Scientists have found a group of corals in the Pacific island nation of Palau that live in water acidic enough to kill most other corals. Now they're hoping what they learn from the unusual reefs may help save others threatened by the increasing acidity of oceans around the world.

I didn't read the story yet. Wondering if these are different species or morphs that have existed for eons,, or just common species that have adapted to a new & different environment? It kind of makes sense that reefs have experienced pH fluctuations over geological time and will adapt successfully through good old natural selection. Looking forward to reading this thnx f posting! Long live the reef.
