Scrape algae off acrylic?

What is the best way to scrape algae off of an acrylic tank? I have an acrylic safe mag float but it does not remove the algae.

I use a Dobie pad.
If it's real bad, a credit card or automobile ice scraper.

Be gentle.

The credit card is not good for anything else after having a SW tank so you might as well scrape algae with it

I haven't had much luck with the credit card as a scraper or a auto scraper either. My main issue is coralline though.

Credit card is kind of working but not great. Tank is empty now should I try filling it with bleach or something to help?

Since the tank is empty you can fill with water and white vinegar with a pump and let it sit over night then hit it with a CC.

If its empty, use vinegar. you can soak some towels in it and lay it on the acrylic. It will soften up in no time and wipe right of. You could also spray it on with a spray bottle or dilute a few gallons of it in some water and fill the tank up and let it soak for a while. Vinegar is the best thing for removing coraline if there isn't water in the tank.

for hard/stubborn algae use a piece of acrylic with a 'straight' edge...works excellent, won't scratch tank
