Adding sand to a cycled tank
I have a 180g tank that I started cycling several weeks ago with about 150# of live rock. The cycle is complete at this point. When I started the cycle my sand was on backorder. I will rinse the sand and add it to the tank. I have no livestock in the tank at this point.
Once I add the sand will I have to cycle the tank again or will it still be cycled so that I could add a small CUC? Thanks |

sand will cycle the tank again and at this point a CUC is really needed since they have nothing to clean up after haha.
you can go to LFS and buy a pound or so of their sand, that will help seed your new sand and speed up the process |

If you are cycled in a couple weeks your lucky but anyways your fine to add without cycling is when you remove stuff you will have issues. If you started with all live rock it should seed the sand rather quickly
