Carberryi Anthias?

I am really considering these for my 125g reef! Dang they are a nice fish but I'm never had any experience with anthias. I'm guessing the will go well with the fish already in my tank. 2 perc clowns 3 cardinal and a yellow eye kole tang.

I guess I would have to get some kind of automatic feeder to keep these guys happy? No way would I have time for 2-3 feedings a day. Also has anyone ordered them from live aquaria? The only problem I have is they don't sex em so how bad would it be to get 2 males and a female? Also they have the African and Maldives, any big difference in the look of those? I guess possibly if I got the small ones they would still be...umm gender neutral?

Help me out here! What do I need to know and what am I missing?

They seem to be pretty seasonal and will show up for a month or two a lot and then disappear for six months. The trios that sell on divers den will only have one male max. A lot of them looked like female trios and the most dominant one will turn male. I don't have experience with whether or not the other females will turn male as I haven't kept them yet.

You will want to feed these guys more than once a day as you would with any anthias. An auto feeder on your tank should be sufficient assuming you get them trained to eat pellets. I will be keeping a trio in my tank once I see them offered again. A beautiful underrated fish in my opinion.

Currently housing 5 Ignitus (Pseudanthias ignitus) in my 300, and 4 (hopefully soon to be a few more added) Resplendent (Pseudanthias pulcherrimus) finishing out quarantine - to be transferred into the reef this weekend. Great fish, lots of color and movement, wonderful community tank mate/reef mate.
Ignitus initially a tad shy, and after a week or so of acclimation/"testing the waters", they became more flamboyant and playful.
Their piscine tankmates are a Red Sea Purple Tang, Tomini Tang, a pair of Ocellaris Clowns, a Bristle Tail Filefish, Starry Blenny, Six-Line Wrasse, 2 Purple Firefish, and a Flame Angel (I might have missed one or two). They have a 300 gallon reef to swim around and through (it's a walk around reef, so the reef runs pretty much diagonally across the aquarium and slopes from back to front), and they definitely make use of it.

Enjoy them if you get the opportunity!

I have 3 bartlets housed with a YT, 3 pajama cards, 1 mystery wrasse and a copperband...all are fine. THe anthias are constantly out and very happy. be sure to have a cover or they will jump out of tank. I feed them once a day sometimes twice if I have time...they love pellets and mysis and blood worms and well just about anything but for a quick meal i shake the small pellets and it keeps them fed and nourished.

Love carberryi's.
You don't have to go through DD to get them, LA has them usually in stock, and in fact have them right now.
Best to just get females and let the dominant become male.
The only thing w/ these guys is they do need a varied diet and several feedings in order to keep good color, also it seems that they may be sensitive shippers.
Lyretails are another great choice and much more forgiving in dietary needs, and seem quicker to adapt to pellets.
