just got some zoanthids and saw this guy on them

Hi,
I just got new zoanthids(just starting corals) and i saw my hermit on top of the zoas. Im not able to identify him to check if he's reef safe, so im going to post a picture of it. If anyone knows, please help me out! Otherwise im going to donate him to my LFS. He was free anyways.

Stripped hermit, safe for corals and such but they may attack snails. They are optomistic feeders but are good for eating left over food.

As Shifty says above. I never trust crabs and snails together if you like your snails.

I had a couple of those after starting up my 28 years ago. They pick at just about everything and do a fairly good job at knocking stuff around. Never again will I have any.

I got a hermit that looks exactly like that one time on accident in a bag of snail orders. He doesn't harm any corals, but he has gotten rather large for a hermit. As stated above, he will take out snails.... Mine took out a very large mexican turbo snail and has a nice large home now. lol.

If well fed, they will leave snails alone. I have those, red hermits, and blue legged with turbos, florida ceriths, nassarius, and nerite snails and never had a problem.
