Tank bowing considerably

My 50 gallon acrylic tank is only a few months old yet is bowing considerably on the front panel which is only 36x20. I know some bowing is normal but I would say in the middle it may be nearly half an inch out. Is this something to be concerned about?

What is the acrylic thickness and what type of bracing does it have?

Who is the manufacturer?

Yes some bowing is normal with acrylic. 1/2" on a 3' tank would concern me.

Ah, I need to update that. I am in Westminster now but used to be on the side of south table mtn. I'm right down the street from Elite reef now (had to move closer to the lfs ). Shoot me a pm sometime if you are headed that way.

...to bad it's not 1/2". I don't run acrylic but use 1/2" glass for my 3' long 24" tall tank...

I have a 180 and it bows a whole lot. Been up and running for 12 years no problems. I wouldn't be too concerned.

If it was me and MY tank was bowing. I would not waste any time replacing it ASAP. Then whoever made it would be in for some problems.
