What kind of anemone is this?
Hi all,
I bought this anemone at my LFS and they labeled it as a Polytip anemone. I couldn't find it anywhere. It's all white with green tips. Also, why does it curl up like in the picture? Thanks, Keegan |

Well, it looks like a bleached out Long tentacle(M. Doreensis) but you really need a pic of the foot/base to ID properly.

Also, what can I do to help it regain its former color?

This is what an LTA foot and column looks like(This one is PO'd at swap so curly Q tentacles are pulled in, but they usually look like yours)
It needs to build up zooxanthelle to make use of light, and will turn more beige in doing so, w/ a highlight of it's natural color(sounds like maybe green) At this time I would acclimate it to light, maybe screen it off to shade it. Mysis is a great small food to spot feed to help regain health, once or twice a week. If it is an LTA/Doreensis they are sand dwellars, so it should actually be in a sand bed, though if it is anchored I would not bother it at this time, let it be as much as possible, it will move on it's own. This is one I had, but again, stressed from swap, no light, but shows foot and veracue. Look for those tell tale spots.

That is definitely what I have. So should I just spit feed it then? Also, is brine shrimp okay? That's all I have at the moment.

Brine will do for now, enriched brine better, and mysis is my preference, no big rush, let it settle a little, but get some when you can.
Spot feed w/ a turkey baster would be best.

I have a turkey baster on hand, so it shouldn't be a problem. Just squirt it on the anemone near the mouth, right?

Yes, but not too direct, tents will pull it in.
This is that same LTA on the left showing the curly Q's Mine turned more green too, hopefully yours does well, good luck!
