need help picking a MH pendent/reflector
Ive been around a while… (not as long as some)
and I've loved MH lights and find them what fits me…. (nothing against other styles of lighting) Im downsizing due to college (3 semesters left!!! whoot) My new tank has a 36" x 24" foot print (29" tall) my plan is to run a pendant in the middle and have a few T-5 tubes and LED actinics. i only want to run 1-MH light. I'm currently running 400W lights on my 240 and am loving every minute of it. I'm using Coralvue Lumen Bright Pendants with the extra outer case and glass shield. i love the extra protection and belt containment. will one of those work good. (I'm not worried about the 36" dimension, because there probably won't be much corals on the outer 8" of the tank. so it would just need to cover 28" roughly haha.) if you think a different Single Ended Pendent/reflector would be better, the throw out some ideas for me. Thanks

I like my Hamilton Cayman Sun HQI reflectors. Very high output reflectors.
You can get it in Mogul base as well if you prefer SE MH lamps. http://www.hamiltontechnology.com/shop/?cat=79 |

lumen bright Mini wides cover a 40 breeder pretty good or you could do lumenbright larges but that may cut into space for t5 or led supplement lighting. Lumen bright mini's might cut the mustard but think it would be pushing it but that depends what you are keeping in the tank.

thank you for all the suggestions.
i have looked at the Cayman reflectors and like them. the lumen bright reflector will probably work, but wasn't sure if the square style like the cayman would be any better, or if the bright would do better with the 29" tall tank. (and i could always lift is higher then the recommended 9" height to get a wider spread. )
