r. o. dual recirc. ???
hello,
i have a reef octopus 6" dual recirculating skimmer. it is in the cabinet under my 75g build, with kind of tight quarters. hence the issue.... r.o. recommends a 6" water depth, and mine is at 9". the only way to raise it 3" would be to cut a hole in the cabinet above and raise it. it is possible, but is it worth it??? will 3" make that much of a difference skimming? experience or thoughts? thanks...

If its working fine.. its working fine..
Normally recirc skimmers don't have a recommended water level as they shouldn't be effected by it.

gotcha... it looks like it's working fine. on the r o site it does recommend having the water level at least an inch or 2 above the highest pump and around 3/4 of the way up the body. as of now, it's within 2-3" of the neck. i'm thinking the height above the water wouldn't matter so much for this as would throttling back the pump???
