Fixing a CO2 solenoid valve

I have fixed the leak in my solenoid valve for my co2—replaced the O-ring. However, I must have assembled it wrong. The valve will not close with the power on or off. I must have jacked something up... Any ideas? It was working OK before I took it apart—just was leaking around the O-ring. The seal around the piston was fine.

It is a Reef Octopus:

I cannot find a replacement.

Thanks,

Larry
