Is this skimmer worth fixing?

I got this in a box of "goodies" with the tank I bought and was wondering if it could be fixed, whether it would be worth fixing, and how to fix it? Does it just need a new pump and hose with needle valve? It is a Euro-Reef brand.

I would fix it personally if you plan on using it. They made decent skimmers.

After a bunch more research I found that Euro-reef is now Reef Dynamics and they sell pumps to fit. So a "modified" pump from them is a little over $100 more than just buying the same pump somewhere else. So how hard is it to modify a pump to fit?

Call or E mail Jeff Macare at Reef Dynamics and tell him what you have and he will set you up. He may ask for a picture

Sounds like you have an old Euroreef 8-2

a complete skimmer pump from RD is $160, a skimmer pump does need a special impeller and volute. I would just get the pump from RD and be done with it

I'm pretty sure that's what I'm going to do but I just wondered if the $60 pump modification was a big deal or not.
