Good aquarium tongs..

You'd thing something so simple wouldn't be so elusive.. I've gone through three different brands of aquarium tongs, and they've all been junk, eventually breaking or even rusting after a few weeks of use.

How hard is it to make a reliable set of tongs??

Can anybody recommend a decent set of tongs that will *last*? I have a 24" deep tank, with some tight places, so tongs are essential.. Besides the fact that I'm not a big fan of putting my arm elbow deep into the tank and knocking the skimer offline for an hour..

I've got a set of salad tongs from I think WalMart that have been decent. Most of the aquarium ones haven't been that good. I have the plant tongs mentioned earlier and they work well too. My best tool though I picked up at a garage sale, it's a medical clamp of some sort. It's just not long enough to use in a 24" deep tank.

I've used this for about 2 years now: http://www.aquacave.com/12-curved-ti...teel-2884.html

You have to rinse it with freshwater after each use.

I use a pair of placenta forceps (12") I scored on eBay for $10.00.

Made out of titanium and do not rust.

Creepy, yes, but they are fantastic tools
