Hello Again! BUT Down to 1 Tank!
Hello everyone!!
Yes, it's been a while so we decided to pop in. Over the years we have had many tanks and ponds, but due to expense, we are down to just one tank. The 125 gallon reef. Most of the long time RC people will remember us from the Goni days. We traded our Goni's off to break down the tanks. The electric bill was way too out of control and things got unbearably tight. Unfortunately sacrifices must be made . So, the 125 still houses most of the fish we bought back in 2004-2005. Yes, we're very lucky to have avoided illnesses and die offs. Little fish come and go like damsels, but the biggies have been healthy and strong. Our anemones each measure approx 14" in diameter, and the clown loves to go between the 2. We've basically thinned the herd when it comes to corals because additives were getting expensive as well. So, heres a pic of the tank

I love the way the tank looks so scenic in the living room. Not overpowering but the focal point

We have a tan long tenticle and a purple tip Seabea anemone. I've really only heard of the bubbles dividing in captivity, but I could be wrong. Either way, ours look like they have noooo intentions at all of splitting themselves. So, half of my tank is divided for these two monstrosities! I guess I can say I'm fortunate that they both decided to sit side by side on the sandbed.
JackandJill, thank u, and yes it is a really nice focal point. That's the first thing ppl see when they walk in the door. It just sux sometimes while watching a movie and it's a quiet part. All you can hear is the skimmer going. Lol! BUT! Since the tank is sumpless and we got tired of hearing the grinding of overflow filters, I bought a fluval canister filter, and it's such an improvement!! Today I also built a DIY HOT fuge with spare parts laying around the basement. OMG...what a way to save $200! I gotta go to the LFS today and get some cheato and other goodies for it. Later, I'm gonna post how I made it. Insane how your mind creates!
