banggai cardinal fish disappeared???

So tonight when I come home from work I notice one of our cardinal fish is no where to be found. We have looked all over tank and all around it on the floor. Its no where and upon further looking our other one's fins look like one of the other fish tried to eat it. So my question is who is the culprit. The other tank mates are a false percula misbar clown, a black cap jawfish, lawnmower blenny, Christmas wrasse and emerald crab..many snails and a few scarlet hermits. Both cardinal fish have been in the tank about 3 weeks now. Nothing was wrong last night at all with them. All parameters are normal. 60 gallon tank. TIA

If it's only been a few hours, I wouldn't worry too much about it, fish disappear all the time only to reappear days later.

As for possible aggression, the first place I would look is the other cardinal, then the emerald crab.

How much deeper would the ocean be if it didn't have sponges?

+1 to both above comments...One of my banggai cardinals lost part of its tail in a fight with a wrasse. The fin did grow back. How long have you had the cardinals?

3 weeks. Never noticed any aggression between the 2 cardinals but we are only home with the tank for about 5 hours each night after we get home from work. They are most recent add to the tank.

I had a small fish end up about 6 feet away from the thank when it jumped. another managed to get to the basement through a vent sized hole behind the tank.
Ya Ya, I have a mesh cover NOW. It took me to long to get smart.
